Monica Secco, nasce a Torino il 29/05/1971, è danzatrice, autrice, coreografa, insegnante di teatrodanza, movimento somatico, tecniche di composizione e drammaturgia del corpo.

La sua ricerca artistica si svolge nell’ambito dei linguaggi delle performing arts, della danza contemporanea e del movimento somatico.

Membro del Consiglio Internazionale della Danza (CID) come director, coreographer.

Senior Counselor riconosciuta dall’associazione internazionale AEAPro.

 

Fondatrice e direttrice artistica di Artemovimento Centro di ricerca Coreografica.

Ideatrice di Improbubble, un format di composizione istantanea tra differenti arti (musica, voce, danza…)

Diplomata presso l’Accademia Arte e Media di Torino.

Naturopata diplomata ad indirizzo psicosomatico e MTC, Kinesiologa e Formatrice italiana Body Life Alignment.

Segue dal 2018 il programma di formazione BMC: Programma SME (Somatic Movement Education) presso il Somatic movement  BMC (Body mind centering).

Con l’Associazione Artemovimento, scrive e vince, il progetto europeo “PerformAction performing arts for education and training”

Dal 1990 fino 2002 insegna danza contemporanea e teatro danza presso alcune scuole torinesi (Danzaviva, Loredana Furno) e porta i suoi seminari in Francia, Spagna, Gran Bretagna.

Dal 2002 è direttrice artistica, presidente e formatrice di Artemovimento, Centro di Ricerca Coreografica che si occupa della promozione e divulgazione della danza contemporanea performativa e del teatro danza.

Dal 2001 al 2014 è stata Direttrice artistica di Insoliti Festival internazionale di danza contemporanea corti di danza d’autore e Artisti per casa, giardini e cortile (2011 – 2014) con il contributo della Regione Piemonte e Comune di Torino

 

Danza e porta le sue performance in tutti i teatri più importanti piemontesi (Teatro Colosseo, Teatro Nuovo, Alfieri Teatro, Teatro Vittoria, Teatro Gobetti, Fonderie Limone nell’ambito di varie rassegne), in alcuni festival internazionali (Francia, Spagna, Germania e Italia) ed anche in alcune gallerie d’arte minori e importanti musei (MEF museo Ettore Fico e Museo di Scienze Naturali di Torino)

 

• 2005 e 2006 prende parte alla commissione europea per la selezione di giovani coreografi all’interno del Programme Recherche et Composition Chorègraphiques di Royaumont Abbaye & foundation (Francia).

 

• 2006 lavora al Forte di Bard come artista, allestisce una sorta di mostra performativa site-specific con 15 danzatori situati in spazi sparsi per il Forte.

 

• Vince e viene selezionata dalla Regione Piemonte con il sostegno del MIBAC con una performance short format Come pesci fuor d’aria per il festival/rassegna SPAZI PER LA DANZA CONTEMPORANEA.

Nel 2015 fonda il MovimentoCollettivo con la prima performance: Il senso delle cose sta dietro la polvere, che debutta presso il Teatro Camploy di Verona.

Per il MovimentoCollettivo nascono tre altre performance: Soloacqua, Primo strato d’amore, Orfeo libero.

Soloacqua vince un bando nel festival La voce del corpo, Regione Lombardia, e viene portato nelle piazze principali di Torino e in zone limitrofe.

 

• 2017 danza a Venezia nella performance alla Venice International Performance Art Week.

 

Formazione dettagliata in danza contemporanea, teatrodanza, composizione e somatic movement

Inizia a 6 anni lo studio della danza classica con vari maestri di fama nazionale e internazionale a Torino.

Dai 12 anni danza Jazz (tecnica Luigi) con Don Marasigan, del quale diventa assistente nel 1988.

Dai 15 anni, alla classica e al jazz, aggiunge lo studio della danza moderna (tecnica Graham, Cunningham e Limon).
Tra il 1995 e il 1999 studia danza contemporanea, Tanztheater e Improvvisazione a New York presso il Dancespace, il Limon Institute, Merce Cunningham e lo Step, dove consegue una borsa di studio a vita.
Dal 1997 prosegue i suoi aggiornamenti in Francia (Grenoble, Voiron e Lione).

-Approfondisce lo studio della danza contemporanea, danza di ricerca e Tanztheater, studiando all’estero, facendone suo oggetto di studio e lavoro.

Riceve borsa di studio a vita presso lo STEP di NEW YORK CITY, accademia di danza contemporanea, teatrodanza e musical.

Diploma nazionale come “Maestra di danza contemporanea” terzo livello rilasciato dal CONI nel 2018.

INSOLITI festival internazionale di danza contemporanea e corti di danza d’autore

Per 15 anni Monica Secco è alla guida della direzione artistica di INSOLITI FESTIVAL MOVIMENTI DI INNOVAZIONE DELLA NUOVA DANZA, con il sostegno della Regione Piemonte e del Comune di Torino ha ospitato grandi nomi della danza contemporanea italiana tra cui Virgilio Sieni ed Enzo Cosimi. Ha creato  nel tempo scambi preziosissimi con partner stranieri in Francia, Germania e Svizzera.

Il Festival aveva tra i suoi punti cardine: SOSTEGNO ALLA CREAZIONE PER I GIOVANI COREOGRAFI

Sono stati accolti in residenza artistica giovani coreografi piemontesi che hanno avuto modo di usufruire della sala prove dell’Associazione Artemovimento, dell’affiancamento di tutor esperti che mettono a disposizione le proprie competenze e dell’ausilio e accompagnamento da parte della struttura Artemovimento per quanto riguarda le fasi di comunicazione, promozione e ricerca di date in rassegne e festival.

E’ stata un’occasione d’incontro fra realtà italiane e straniere che operavano nel settore della danza contemporanea. Ha creato, infatti, momenti di scambio e vero confronto artistico, offrendo uno spazio e un’occasione di crescita professionale costante.

OSPITALITA’ DI COMPAGNIE AFFERMATE A LIVELLO NAZIONALE ED INTERNAZIONALE

E’ stato un canale permanente di comunicazione, un osservatorio internazionale sulla creazione, la produzione e la diffusione della cultura della danza contemporanea. Ha promosso l’avvicinamento del pubblico a esperienze interdisciplinari e di contaminazione dei linguaggi.

Collettivo Insoliti ha prestato particolare attenzione alla contaminazione fra differenti forme artistiche, dedicando spazi particolari e accuratamente scelti per le sperimentazioni performative che univano la danza, la musica, il teatro e le arti visive.

Con l’Associazione Artemovimento, scrive e vince, il progetto europeo “PerformAction performing arts for education and training”, Progetto n. 2017 – 1 –UK01 – KA204 – 036779 co-finanziato nell’ambito del programma UE Erasmus+. Il Progetto PerformAction ha ottenuto finanziamenti dall’Ue per aver individuato il possibile legame tra i processi creativi stimolati dalla performance contemporanea (dal modello di Pina Bausch e il teatrodanza) e le difficoltà di apprendimento (DSA)

Monica Secco, born in Turin on 05/29/1971, is a dancer, author and choreographer, teacher of dance theater and composition techniques and member of the International Dance Council CID. Her artistic research takes place in the languages of performing art, contemporary dance and somatic movement.

She created Improbubble, an instant composition format.

Founder and artistic director of Artemovimento Choreographic research center.
Graduated from the Art and Media Academy of Turin.

Naturopath graduated with psychosomatic specialization and MTC, Kinesiologist and Italian practitioner of Body Life Alignment and tutor at Accademia Life Alignment of Turin.
Since 2018 she has been attending the program BMC: Program SME (Somatic Movement Education) at the BMC somatic movement (Body mind centering).
In collaboration with the Artemovimento Association, she writes and wins, the European project “PerformAction, performing arts for education and training”.

 

• 2002 – present she has been artistic director and president of Artemovimento, a Choreographic Research Center which deals with the promotion and dissemination of contemporary performative dance and dance theater, located in Via Bava 18, Turin.

 

• 1990 – 2002 she was a teacher of contemporary dance and dance theater at some schools in Turin (Danzaviva, Loredana Furno) and she brought her seminars to France, Spain, Great Britain.

 

• 2002 – present she has been teaching at Artemovimento.

 

• 2001 – 2014 Artistic Director until 2014 for International Contemporary Dance Festival “Insoliti” short format of author’s dance and Artisiti per casa, giardini e cortile (2011 – 2014) with the contribution of the Piedmont Region and the Municipality of Turin

 

• Choreographer and director of several of her plays, performances and choreographies:
  she dances and brings her performances to all the most important Piedmontese theaters (Teatro Colosseo, Teatro Nuovo, Alfieri Teatro, Teatro Vittoria, Teatro Gobetti, Fonderie Limone in various exhibitions), in some international festivals (France, Spain, Germany and Italy) and also in some minor art galleries and important museums (MEF Ettore Fico museum and Natural Science Museum of Turin).

 

• 2005 and 2006 she took part in the European commission for the selection of young choreographers within the Program Recherche et Composition Chorègraphiques of Royaumont Abbaye & foundation (France).

 

• 2006 she worked at the Forte di Bard as an artist, setting up a sort of site-specific performative exhibition with 15 dancers located in areas scattered around the Fort.

 

• Won and selected by the Piedmont Region with the support of the MIBAC with a short format exhibition “Come un pesce fuor d’acqua” for the festival SPAZI PER LA DANZA CONTEMPORANEA (Space for the contemporary dance).

 

• 2015 – present  she has founded the CollettivoArtemovimento with her first performance: “Il senso delle cose sta dietro la polvere”, which debuts at the    Teatro Camploy in Verona.

 

• From the CollectivoArtemovimento, other three performances are born: SoloAcqua (Only water), Primo strato d’amore (First layer of love), Orfeo libero (Orpheus free). The performance “SoloAcqua” won a festival La voce del Corpo (The voice of the body), Lombardia Region, and it is taken to the main squares of Turin and the surrounding area.

 

• 2017 she danced in the performance at the Venice International Performance Art Week.

• She began studying ballet at the age of 6 with various national and international known masters in Turin.
• From the age of 12, she dances Jazz (Luigi technique) with Don Marasigan, for whom she became assistant in 1988.

INSOLITI international contemporary dance festival  and short format of author’s dance

For 15 years Monica Secco is at the board of the artistic direction of INSOLITI FESTIVAL MOVIMENTI DI INNOVAZIONE DELLA NUOVA DANZA (“Insoliti” Festival movement of innovation of the new dance), with the support of the Piedmont Region and the Municipality of Turin, and hosted big names in Italian contemporary dance including Virgilio Sieni and Enzo Cosimi. Over time she has created invaluable exchanges with foreign partners in France, Germany and Switzerland.

The Festival had few key points:

SUPPORT FOR CREATION FOR YOUNG CHOREOGRAPHERS

Young Piedmontese choreographers were welcomed into the artistic residence, who were able to take part in the rehearsal at the Artemovimento Association, the support of experienced tutors who made their skills available and the help and support of the Artemovimento structure as regards the phases of communication, promotion and search for dates in festivals.

MEETING, COMPARISON, EXCHANGE

It was an opportunity to meet Italian and foreign companies operating in the contemporary dance sector. In fact, it created moments of exchange and true artistic confrontation, offering a space and an opportunity for constant professional growth.
HOSPITALITY OF AFFIRMED COMPANIES AT NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL LEVEL
It was a permanent communication channel, an international observatory over the creation, production and dissemination of contemporary dance culture. It promoted the approach of the public to interdisciplinary experiences and contamination of languages.
SYNERGIES BETWEEN DIFFERENT ARTISTIC FORMS

Collettivo Insoliti  has paid specific attention to the contamination between different artistic forms, dedicating particular and carefully chosen spaces to performative experiments that combined dance, music, theater and visual arts.

PERFORMACTION. PERFORMING ARTS FOR EDUCATION AND TRAINING

With the Artemovimento Association, she writes and wins, the European project “PerformAction performing arts for education and training”, Project n. 2017 – 1 –UK01 – KA204 – 036779 co-financed under the EU Erasmus + program. The PerformAction Project has received funding from the EU for having identified the possible link between the creative processes stimulated by contemporary performance (from the model of Pina Bausch and theater-dance) and learning difficulties (DSA).
